Elizabeth R. Weiss

Ms. Weiss is a litigation, labor and employment, and business law attorney.  After earning her bachelors degree from Stanford University, her masters in journalism from Columbia University, and her J.D., with honors, from Harvard Law School, Ms. Weiss began her legal career in New York at Davis Polk & Wardwell.  She then moved to San Francisco, where she worked for Brobeck Phleger & Harrison and Morgan Lewis & Bockius before eventually joining a small technology-focused employment law practice in the East Bay.  Ms. Weiss brings to Gagen McCoy experience in a variety of legal fields across a broad spectrum of industries.  She has advocated for both plaintiffs and defendants, representing aggrieved individuals, small- and medium-sized businesses, and large multinational clients.  She particularly enjoys the challenges of written advocacy, including appellate work, and of finding creative solutions to perplexing problems.  She has substantial pro bono experience, including in the areas of immigration/asylum applications and appeals, eviction defense, and victims’ rights.

Ms. Weiss volunteers at local Danville schools and with Danville’s Beth Chaim Congregation, and is active in fundraising and outreach targeting underserved communities.  Elizabeth enjoys hiking, swimming, fiction writing, and, most of all, raising her two sons.
