Juarez v. Wash Depot Holdings, Inc. (2018) 24 Cal.App.5th 1197.  An employer handbook had a provision which required arbitration of employment disputes and denied an employee's right to bring an action under the Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act of 2004.  Both the trial court and the Court of Appeal found that the arbitration provision in the handbook was unenforceable as against public policy, and that an employee's right to bring a private attorney general's act claim could not be waived or confined to arbitration.
