Travelers’ Property Casualty Co. of America v. Engel Insulation, Inc. (2018) 29 Cal.App.5th 830.  This is a case in which an insurer sought to file subrogation claims on behalf of its insured, but its insured was suspended as an active corporation for failure to pay its taxes.  The Court held that the insurer could have no greater rights than the insured by way of subrogation, and therefore the insurer could not pursue its claims as a subrogation claim.
